A LuLu Mall in Kochi....



Kerala Chief minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate Lulu Shopping Mall in Kochi this Sunday. The mall, with a total area of over 25 lakh square feet and an investment of Rs.1, 600 crore, is promoted by Emke group headed by non resident Keralite entrepreneur M A Yousuf Ali. The whole complex covers an area of 20 acres and includes a 300-room hotel that will be managed by renowned hospitality group JW Marriott Hotels. The hotel will be inaugurated in four to five months, said a spokesman for the EMKE group.


The mall will have about 300 national and branded outlets. It will also house a huge food court with a seating capacity for 3,500 people with 18 food counters in addition to the specialty restaurants and dining halls. Lulu will also house McDonald’s first outlet in Kerala.
The mall will have an indoor ice skating rink, claimed to be the first-of-its-kind in south India. The family experiment centre will have a 5-D cinema hall, bowling alleys, water rides and electronic games and other entertainment facilities.
The mall will also house a nine screen multiplex with seating capacities ranging from 250 to 600, the spokesman said. He said the mall will provide space for parking over 3,000 vehicles while providing special access to differently-abled people.
