Air India stats


For the first time since the merger of Air India and Indian Airlines in 2007, the cash-strapped Maharaja may put a brake on its ever-increasing loss this fiscal. The airline’s provisional loss in 2012-13 fiscal is expected to be Rs 5,198 crore, the AI board was told .The losses in FY 2011-12 were higher by Rs 2,361 crore at Rs 7,559 crore.
“The merged airline’s losses were constantly rising after the merger and this is the first fiscal when losses have shown a downward trend. AI is also going to be EBIDTA positive this fiscal. The provisional loss for 2013-14 fiscal is expected to be Rs 3,990 crore,” said an official.
