Petrol cheaper, Diesel price hiked

Petrol and diesel sold in bulk to commercial consumers will get cheaper from Friday as oil marketers pass on the benefit of falling global prices. Retail diesel will, however, become marginally costlier as there's still a gap of Rs 1.33 paise between the pump price and production costs.
Petrol price will go down by Rs.1.09 per litre, including VAT, in Delhi and a little more in states with higher rate of state taxes. Price of bulk diesel, which is sold at market rate, has been cut by 72 paise per litre. Rates of non-subsidized LPG -bought beyond the 12 subsidized refill quota -has also been reduced by Rs 2.50 per 14.2-kg cylinder. But retail diesel will cost 56 paise a litre more.
