BJP gets half the economic pie

BJP now controls over half the Indian economy , measured by gross state domestic product (GSDP), giving it enormous influence to sway national policies.
The BJP and its allies Shiromani Akali Dal and Telugu Desam Party now control 11 states and Union Territories, including Maharashtra and Gujarat, which together account for nearly a quarter of the GSDP. The immediate fallout of the victory in Maharashtra and Haryana will, however, result in much smoother coordination between the Centre and the states on several economic issues.
