The Navi Mumbai airport project received a boost when all four consortia, involving multinational and domestic partners, qualified in the first technical round of global bidding.
The consortia will now compete in the final bidding competition. The one that offers highest investment and a shorter period in completing and handing it over to the government will win the contract. The project monitoring and implementation committee had scrutinized the applications. Cidco had commenced the first technical round of bidding by issuing a global tender on February 5. Cidco has already obtained major clearances for the project.
