BBIN Motor Vehicle Agreement inked


By next year, you will be able to drive to Bhutan and Bangladesh.This because Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal (BBIN) on Monday signed the Motor Vehicle Agreement for seamless movement of goods and passenger vehicles between the four Saarc countries.
New Delhi has urged the member nations to formulate the required protocol and procedures in the “shortest time possible“.Sources said the framework agreement and all formalities are likely to be completed by December.
Road transport minister Nitin Gadkari, who represented India at the BBIN summit in Thimpu on Monday , said the agreement “has further strengthened regional cooperation among the four nations“. “The Motor Vehicle Agreement is the overarching framework to fulfil our commitment to enhance regional connectivity,“ he said during the signing ceremony .
