Car sales in June grew at the slowest pace in last eight months as rural worries and maintenance shutdown at key companies impacted wholesale deliveries at dealerships.
Car sales in June stood at 1.62 lakh units against 1.6 lakh units in the same month last year, growing by 1.5%. Car sales growth slipped into negative in October last year.
Deliveries slowed down also due to maintenance shutdown at heavyweights such as Maruti Suzuki and Toyota Kirloskar.
On the two-wheeler front, motorcycle sales were flat at 8.77 lakh units. Motorcycles sales were in the positive territory in September last year when it grew 19.3%.
