Three people were shot dead and more than ten seriously injured when police opened fire to disperse two groups, one of Sikhs and the other of Muslims, as they clashed over the alleged burning of a religious flag in the Old City.
A curfew and restrictions under Section 144 were imposed in the Kishanbagh area, where the clashes occurred, as well the surrounding area.
