The Union civil aviation ministry will allow the winning bidder for the stalled Rs.14,574 crore Navi Mumbai international airport a share in profit from non-aeronautical operations for the agreement period. This regulatory regime will be the same as in the case of Sahar international airport.
Cidco MD Sanjay Bhatia said, “ A major hurdle for competitive bidding has been resolved with the clause extension. The share from profitability of parking, shops, outlets and other sources of revenue will be made available to the developer.'' The bidding process was scheduled for October 30, but was extended till December 10 and again extended till January 28, 2015. Cidco had been extending the last date as the bidders raised concerns about profit-sharing.
