AAP to go national

In a significant re-think AAP political affairs committee has decided that it would expand nationally and contest polls wherever the party was organizationally strong. AAP senior member Yogendra Yadav had made a strong case for expansion while party chief Arvind Kejriwal had made public his decision to concentrate on Delhi. Speaking after the meeting Kejriwal loyalist Sanjay Singh said, “We have decided to expand nationally and contest elections wherever our organization is strong after consultations with state units and volunteers.“
The move was quickly welcomed by Yadav who tweeted, “Welcome PAC's statement to expand the or ganisation nationally and to consider contesting elections outside Delhi. Step in the right direction. PAC's decision to involve volunteers in party's decision-making recognizes Swaraj within the party . Looking forward to detailed blueprint.“ In their note to the national executive both Prashant Bhushan and Yadav had supported the autonomy of state units.
This is a major step towards rapprochement which began with a meeting on Monday night between Yadav and Kejriwal loyalists.
