Hyundai Motor India flags off 3-millionth car

Hyundai Motor India (HMIL), the second largest car manufacturer in the country, reached yet another milestone on Wednesday when it rolled out its three--millionth car from its Irungattukotai plant near Chennai. The company, in order to sustain its market share of around 20 per cent, has promised to line up a series of new models with superior design and technology.

Stressing on the achievements of the company in India, Park said Hyundai has been able to assess the market situation correctly and cater to it accordingly.From a company barely known in India in 1996, it has become a company which has a complete portfolio of products and is number 2 automobile player in the country.

Hyundai Motor India, which broke ground for its plant on December 10,1996, and rolled out its first Santro in September 1998, has now introduced a unique initiative to ensure “peace of mind” for its customers.The Hyundai Triple Assurance Programme, a three-pronged nationwide scheme, will offer customers a host of incentives to enjoy a hassle-free driving experience through ‘maintenance assurance’, ‘warranty assurance’ and ‘exchange/loyalty offer’ that will be available for Santro and i10 buyers from August 5-25, 2010.

Park said the company has built a capacity to manufacture six lakh cars per annum.
