Work on BKC connector to start soon

The MMRDA plans to start construction of the 1.6-km BKC connector project soon. A budget of Rs.156 crore has been earmarked for the link that will provide seamless connectivity between the western and eastern highways. The project is likely to get a go-ahead from the state environment authorities.
The connector will start from G-Block in BKC and culminate near Somaiya Trust Ground on the Eastern Express Highway after crossing Mithi, LBS Marg and CR tracks at Sion on Main line and Chunabhatti on the Harbour line.
“We had sent the application for approval to Delhi but the Union environment ministry has directed that the state-level body can take call on this project,“ said metropolitan commissioner UPS Madan. Once the project gets clearance from the state expert appraisal committee, the MMRDA plans to issue a work order.
