UP to host investment conclave in Mumbai

Uttar Pradesh will host an Investors' Conclave in Mumbai on September 10. At the first such industrial summit to be organised in Mumbai, UP delegation will be led by chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and aim is to promote UP as a tourist and investment destination. The state will also target film makers, inviting them to UP to avail of benefits enlisted in UP's film promotion policy .
Chief secretary Alok Ranjan said principal secretaries of departments concerned with investment, investors including business captains, industry magnates and heads of multinational companies will be invited to participate in the event. Government will also update its publicity material; sector brochures, films and presentations for the event. Ranjan said state government officials will interact with prospective investors to deliberate on incentives available and assure them of smooth facilitation for their investments in the state.The event will also serve as a platform to announce key programmes for film policy promotion formulated by the state government. A large delegation of companies from the American Chambers of Commerce in India and Confederation of Indian Industry are expected to participate in the conclave.
Ranjan said the investor conclave was expected to achieve several objectives for UP. It will be a means to reinforce UP's strengths in terms of growing consumption power, skilled manpower, world class industrial infrastructure and a responsive policy environment. It is also intended to demonstrate the state's commitment to private sector development in the state.
