Ulfa ready for talks

In less than a month since Assam decided to start peace negotiations with Ulfa, the outfit has agreed to sit for talks on government’s terms, chief minister Tarun Gogoi said. “There’s some good news. They (Ulfa) are prepared for talks and have informed me,’’ Gogoi said. Asked whether the Ulfa leadership has agreed that sovereignty would not feature in the dialogue, the CM said: “They have agreed to sit for talks knowing fully well that we will not discuss sovereignty.’’
