BJP's Suraaj Sankalp Patra for Rajasthan

The Rajasthan Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) opened its bag of goodies in an attempt to reach out at every section of the voters.
Terming it a ‘Suraaj Sankalp Patra’, the BJP senior leaders insisted that it was not a simple manifesto or list of announcements but the party’s strong dedication towards the voters. From 15 lakh jobs to a loan of Rs 20 lakhs (at 3% interest) to registered unemployed youth; rehabilitation of Hindu Pak refugees, 24 hours power supply to domestic consumers and reservation to Gujjars, Banjara, Garia-Lohar, Rebari and Gadaria under Special Backward Classes – the BJP has listed out a number of populist announcements in its manifesto.
5% reservation to SBC
15 lakh new jobs
Formation of Middle Class Commission
Petroleum Corporation to be headquartered in Barmer
Direct Cash Benefit Scheme to be linked to Aadhaar
BJP to review Gehlot govt’s free medicine scheme

The party also assures to make serious attempts to implement 14% reservations to the economically backward of the unreserved category, which was promised by BJP in 2008. The party has also tried to pacify the non-reserved communities with assurances like educational scholarships on the lines of SC/ST students.
Identifying the fact that there has been an increase in the number of middle class families in the state, the BJP promises to redefine the parameters for the middle class to draft and launch special schemes from them. It has also announced to form a ‘Middle Class Commission’.
The party has been forced to include many Congress’s government schemes in its manifesto. Rather than promising free distribution of food-grains, the BJP has said it would look into the feasibility aspect and distribute 35 kilos of wheat (to BPL and non-tax paying APL families) either at a rationalised price or for free.
The state BJP has also said it would review the Ashok Gehlot government’s flagship scheme of distributing free medicines and free diagnosis, though the party claims that would be for better implementation.
After severely criticizing Teachers' Eligibility Test and claiming it will be abolished, the BJP manifesto now claims that it would be reviewed and the hurdles the norms created would be removed. Similarly, it claims, that distribution of laptops and tablets to meritorious students would be made practical.
However, on the other hand, it has tried to lure the common man by offering low interest loans for farmers, women, youth, artisans and craftsmen, students, hair dressers who have shops, minorities and others. It has also tried to reach out at the masses through schemes like distribution of scooty and cycles to girl students and transport vouchers to students who travel to other centers to appear in competitive exams.
