Of Park Street & Breach Candy....

Park Street, Kolkata's century-old high street, is holding its own in the times of glitzy malls. In July-September 2013, Park Street recorded an 11% increase in rental over April-June, the steepest rise in any main street.
According to international real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield, Park Street has retained its prime status and even extended its influence to adjoining neighbourhoods.
Park Street’s average rental of Rs 500/ft is higher than even Kemps Corner and Breach Candy in Mumbai where it’s Rs 440. Linking Road, however, commands a high Rs 750 and in Delhi, rentals are highest at Khan Market at Rs 1,260, followed by Connaught Place and South Extension at Rs 750 and Rs 725.
Park Street rental is higher than locations in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. Rental on Vittal Mallya Road and Brigade Road in Bangalore is pegged around Rs 300-330; Cathedral Road and Khadar Nawaz Khan Road around Rs 150-200 and Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills at Rs 130 a sqft.
