Come January, passengers flying out of Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) won’t have to face serpentine queues at the check-in counters, thanks to the 75,000-sqm terminal expansion that also promises passengers a mall-like atmosphere.
Airport authorities too can manage traffic better by ensuring that passengers are spread out, finish their check-in formalities faster and get their boarding passes quicker.
To ensure faster security clearance, additional Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel will also be deployed in the expanded terminal building.
In addition to the new dining and shopping experience, travelers will see changes in the existing terminal (T1), which will in future cater exclusively to foreign-bound travellers.
