BJP's manifesto for Telangana

The Telangana BJP released its election manifesto with promises including free laptops for meritorious students, Rs.1 lakh cash awards for female students and a separate budget for agriculture.
At a function held at the party office, BJP state president G Kishan Reddy announced a proposed scheme titled ‘Pratibha Kamalam’. Under this, the BJP assured free laptops to the top 25,000 students clearing the engineering common entrance test, top 500 rank holders in medicine and top 500 students in the MBA entrance test. Reddy also announced Rs.1 lakh cash incentive for the top 2,000 female students clearing the Eamcet as well as the top 100 girls passing the MBA-CET, irrespective of their economic condition.
The party has tried to integrate the Telangana manifesto with the vision of its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Kishan Reddy said. Modi had spoken about creating 'Brand India' by promoting five 'Ts' (Tradition, Technology, Tourism, Trade and Talent). The Telangana BJP is adding transparency also to the list, he said.
Other promises in the manifesto include a memorial for those who sacrificed their lives for Telangana and Rs.10 lakh or three acres of land to their families. The BJP also promised nine hours of uninterrupted power to farmers and an 85 per cent subsidy for solar pump sets. The manifesto also said the party would make efforts to accord national status to the Pranahita-Chevella irrigation project.
