E-toll system across Maharashtra in 6 months

The state government assured the legislative assembly that all toll plaza's will be converted into `e-toll', or electonic payment of toll, in the next six months.
Eknath Shinde public works department (PWD) minister, while replying to a calling attention motion in the legislative assembly on Thursday said, “All toll naka's will be converted into e-toll, so motorists will not have to wait in the traffic anymore.“
Peasants and Workers Party MLA Subhash Patil and others had moved a calling attention motion asking what measures is government taking after the recent accident on Mumbai-Pune expressway which killed 17 people. In support of the calling attention motion, senior NCP leader and MLA Ajit Pawar pointed out that even after having a pass they have to wait for long to pass the Mumbai-Pune expressway toll naka.
Speaking about other measures taken by the government to curb accidents, Shinde said, “CCTV cameras, which will be connected to a command centre for real-time monitoring of the situation will be put on expressway . Police will be deployed to monitor speeding and lane-cutting incidents and fine defaulters. We have put four ambulances and four quick response vehicles on the expressway and a trauma centre near Talegaon will be opened soon.“
