Kejriwal expels Bhushan, Yadav

After a five hour-long disciplinary committee meeting on Monday , Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) finally expelled four senior members -Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan, Anand Kumar and Ajit Jha.
The late night development -the decision was announced at 11.30 pm -came after national disciplinary committee members Dinesh Vaghela, Pankaj Gupta and Ashish Khetan deliberated over the replies filed by Yadav, Bhushan and Kumar to the showcause notices issued by the party on Friday .A party member said Jha had failed to respond to the notice within the prescribed time.
An AAP statement said the committee considered responses furnished by Yadav, Bhushan and Kumar and found them “unsatisfactory“. “The committee reached the unanimous conclusion that the three had indulged in gross indiscipline and anti-party activities...“ it said.
Although Jha failed to give his response, the statement said the committee examined the evidence before it and found him too guilty of indiscipline and indulging in anti-party activities.
“The committee is of the view that Jha failed to furnish his response within the stipulated time despite sufficient time to his disposal. After examining the evidence put before it, the committee is of unanimous view that Jha is also guilty of gross indiscipline and indulging in anti-party activities. The committee, therefore, decided to expel all four from the party ,“ it said. The four members had been accused of anti-party activities for allegedly working to make the party lose the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections. More recently , the four organized and addressed a swaraj samvad, calling it an experiment in alternative politics that might eventually lead to the formation of a political party in the next few years.
