India's first Aerospace SEZ

India’s first Aero space Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is coming up near Hyderabad.
The SEZ is expected to emerge a major aviation hub attracting huge investments from the aerospace industry. Spread over an area of 250 acres, the SEZ is being set up at Adibhatla near the city’s new international airport. Giving a major thrust to the ambitious project, Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL), a Tata Group flagship company, has promised to set up its production unit and precision engineering systems at the SEZ involving an investment of over Rs 8,000 crore. TASL, which has tie-ups with aircraft majors like Boeing, sought a 50-acre plot exclusively for setting up of its manufacturing facility.TASL will be the anchor client of the SEZ. It will collaborate with other companies, which have tie-ups with the defence establishment.
Several companies interested in making investments in the SEZ have come together to float a company called “Samuha Engineering Company Pvt Ltd.Along with TASL and AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, these companies will be co-developers of the SEZ.
The SEZ is expected to generate 10,000 jobs in the immediate future.
