The sole male tiger of the Sariska tiger reserve will have to do with a blind date.Sariska officials shifted a three-year-old tigress from the Ranthambore national park, five days after a wild cat was relocated to the reserve in a first-of-its-kind move in the world. The tigress was airlifted by a helicopter at 11.45 am after it was sedated, officials of the reserve said, adding that the animal will be kept in a special enclosure.Special radio transmitters will be attached to the enclosure, where a “machan” has been built, to protect and monitor the tiger’s activities.“The tigress is doing well and despite being under the tranquilizer still, it seems to be more alert than the tiger was at this time. A Wildlife Institute of India team is monitoring both the animals,” said chief wild warden R N Mehrotra. The authorities plan to shift a total of five tigers from Ranthambore to Sariska in the relocation drive.
