Somewhere in Delhi....

President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the new Maharashtra Sadan near India Gate on Tuesday evening, capping the row over expenditure-related issues that kept the grand building from opening for over one year.
The presence of Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan and the cream of the ruling ally NCP, led by Sharad Pawar, showed the controversies were a thing of the past, with the leaders marveling at the construction of the building spread over 1.7 lakh sq feet, making it second only to the President’s house and the largest among all Bhavans.
Union minister Praful Patel, state PWD minister Chhagan Bhujbal and Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde were also present. The downside of the function were two power cuts that left the organizers red-faced.
Insiders said the Sadan was completed last year but could not be opened because the CM took an exception to cost overruns and contract-related issues.
