BJP crisis blows over

The standoff between BJP’s senior leader LK Advani and his party came to an end after the party patriarch received an assurance from RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and BJP President Rajnath Singh that his views would be taken on board when the time came to choose BJP’s prime ministerial candidate. The elevation of Narendra Modi as BJP’s campaign committee chief, the trigger for Advani’s resignation, was, however, not discussed in a day of hectic negotiations.
