A send off for the Sea Harriers

Paving way for the new, the Indian navy is all set to phase out Sea Harriers on May 11 so that they can bring in the brand new MiG 29KKub fighters. Dominating the sky since 1983, the Sea Harrier was bought from the British to provide aerial cover to the Indian navy fleet. Known for its vertical landing and take-off features, the subsonic Sea Harrier was a prized possession of the Indian navy. However, the Indian navy is the last navy fleet in the world that is still using them. But the long-serving hero of the Indian fleet is due to get a send-off fit for a hero with a ceremony that will be graced by Admiral RK Dhowan. A number of veterans and serving pilots who have flown the Sea Harrier will also be present during the send-off.
