Somewhere in Maharashtra....

The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has invited developers from across the world to build a new power plant at Bhadravati in Chandrapur district of Vidarbha. This is likely to add another 1,320 MW to the state’s existing power capacity in near future.
According to sources, the MIDC had tried to build this plant in 1998, but it didn’t succeed. The MIDC has revived the plan by floating global tenders after almost 15 years. The proposals have to be submitted by April 22.
Infrastructure development finance company limited (IDFC) is helping the MIDC in setting up the project.
“Around 1,300 acres of land is in possession of the MIDC. The environment impact assessment study has been completed and a water source has been allotted for the project,” the proposal states.
