GIFT snippets

Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) has allotted 8.4 million sq feet of built-up area to various companies to set up office there. A substantial portion of the first phase of the project has already been completed. The built-up area of phase-I is around 13 million sq ft.
Allotments have been made to Narsee Monjee Education Trust for an infrastructure school and West India Hospitality Pvt Ltd for a club. Allotments have also been made for a hospital, a data centre and a fuel station.
Officials added that leading developers from Gujarat, Mumbai and Pune were keen to work on the project. At the pre-bid meeting held on December 31, 2013 and thereafter, developers visited the site to take up work to develop commercial and residential towers. A request for proposal (RFP) for developing commercial and residential buildings in both the SEZ and non-SEZ areas has been floated.
Ramakant Jha, managing director & group CEO, said that in order to meet the growing demand for office and residential space by various financial institutions, GIFT has invited developers. He said that GIFT has also completed most of the phase – I infrastructure.
