Congress expels 6 MPs

In an unprecedented move indicating a resolve to press ahead with the Telangana bill, Congress has expelled six Lok Sabha MPs from Seemandhra who moved a no-confidence motion against the Manmohan Singh government.
The action of the expelled members in moving a no-trust motion was seen as a serious act of indiscipline.
The decision to expel them outright rather than suspending them or allowing disciplinary proceedings to play out comes in the background of hectic negotiations between the government and BJP over the bill’s form and content.
BJP leaders Arun Jaitley and M Venkaiah Naidu are insisting on clarifications whether the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Bill needs to be a constitutional amendment given the powers sought to be invested in the governor to supervise law and order in Hyderabad and special guarantees to regions of the state. Naidu has told government interlocutors that the Telangana bill should make a specific mention of a sum that is to be set aside for Seemandhra for dealing with the immediate consequences of the legislation. On Tuesday, both Houses remained disrupted and apart from anti-Telangana protests, AIADMK MP Maitreyan, upset with the Rajya Sabha bulletin naming unruly MPs, tore copies of the bulletin and flung them towards the chair.

Sabbam Hari, Harsha Kumar, Arun Kumar, L Rajagopal, Sambasiva Rao and A Sai Pratap are the 6 expelled MPs
This could have implications for rebellious Andhra CM Kiran Reddy
