Datsun launches Go

With the launch of the ‘Go’ model, Japanese carmaker Nissan’s Datsun brand entered India. The car’s price will range between ₹3.12 lakh and ₹3.70 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
The Datsun Go will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki India’s Alto (both 800 and K10) and Hyundai Motor India’s Eon.
Powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine (three-cylinder), the entry-level car will be available in three variants — D, A and T — priced at ₹3,12,270, ₹3,46,482 and ₹3,69,999, respectively (all ex-showroom, New Delhi), the company said, adding that it would give a mileage of around 20 kmpl.
The Datsun Go is manufactured at Nissan’s Oragadam plant near Chennai, which is a joint venture between Nissan and France-based automaker Renault.
