Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal has said the upcoming Lok Sabha polls will throw up a fractured mandate and there could be another election in a year or two.
Speaking to a television channel, Kejriwal said there was massive churn in the country. “Neither Rahul (Gandhi) nor (Narendra) Modi will be PM. There will be a fractured mandate… there will be another election soon, within 2-3 years,’’ he said. The leader said his assessment was that the AAP would get 100 seats.
When asked if he would contest from Varanasi, Kejriwal said he would contest if the people of the constituency want him to. “I am going to appeal to them to not vote for Modi. The country will not be saved if Modi comes to power… he is very dangerous. Whether I fight the election or not is not important,’’ he said.
The former Delhi CM cited his recent visit to Gujarat, and said the state was plagued by corruption and the tall claims of development were not true.
