Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw kooed stunning photographs of the under construction Pamban bridge—India’s first vertical lift railway sea bridge—in Tamil Nadu. The 2-km-long dual track bridge linking the Rameswaram island to the mainland is likely to be ready by March next year, and will replace the existing 104-year-old structure. It will have a 63m stretch that will lift to allow small ships to pass through. The existing structure was India’s longest sea bridge till the opening of Bandra-Worli Sea Link in 2010
