Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the chief ministers of BJP-ruled states watched the grand and magical Ganga Aarti from a cruise floating in the river on Monday evening.
The entire riverfront and palatial buildings on the bank of the Ganga were illuminated with lights and earthen lamps, making it a ‘Shiv Diwali’ to celebrate the opening of the newly developed Kashi Vishwanath Dham.
The CMs of all BJP-ruled states and some Dy CMs were invited to take part in the event. All the ghats were crowded with people as the decorated cruise carrying the PM moved along the ghats. Besides watching the grand Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, the PM with invited guests also saw the decorated and illuminated riverfront.
Earlier, the PM inaugurated the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham after offering prayers at Kaal Bhairav and Kashi Vishwanath temples in the afternoon. During his two-day visit, the PM will also inaugurate the newly built Svarved Mahamandir at Umraha village on Tuesday.
