India bags first prize at tourism awards for ad campaign

India has bagged the first prize at the Golden City Gate Tourism Awards 2019 for its tourism advertisement campaigns under the tourism ministry’s Incredible India 2.0 campaign. The award, in the category of TV Cinema Spot, was conferred on the ministry at ITB, Berlin on March 8.

The tourism promotion films that received the awards include the ‘Yogi of the Racetrack’, ‘The Reincarnation of Mr. and Mrs. Jones’, the ‘Sanctuary in Paris’, ‘Maharani of Manhattan’ and ‘The Masala Master Chef ’ videos.

The Golden City Gate Tourism Multi-media Awards are given annually in various categories related to the tourism and hospitality sectors. Tourism ministry launched the Incredible India 2.0 campaign in September 2017 and rolled out market specific promotional plans and content based on themes and niche tourism products. The ads were produced in English with voice overs in German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Arabic.
