Tata Power signed an agreement with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, a Maharatna Oil & Gas public sector undertaking, to provide electric vehicle charging stations at HPCL’s retail outlets (petrol pumps) in multiple cities and on major highways across the country. As per the state government’s target, 10% of total vehicle registration in Maharashtra should be electric by 2025.
“The partnership is also in line with the Central government’s National Electric Mobility Mission Plan which aims to develop electric vehicle charging infrastructure,” said Sandeep Bangia, head-EV Charging, Tata Power. Environment minister Aaditya Thackeray had unveiled the new EV policy for Maharashtra earlier this week.
