International flight ban to stay till July 31

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation extended the suspension of scheduled international flights till July 31. However, flights under Vande Bharat Mission and travel bubbles India has so far created — to places as per travel restrictions from India due to the second wave — will continue and people eligible as per government norms can fly to and from India on them.

UAE, the biggest international destination for Indian travellers, is yet to open for them. The Etihad website states, “Flights from India to the UAE have been suspended until July 21 by the UAE authorities.” It remains to be seen when UAE and several other countries lift restrictions on travel from India.
