Netaji's Files To Be Declassified

Less than a month after West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee declassified the intelligence files on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in possession of state government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to declassify papers related to Netaji early next year. “Process of declassification of files relating to Netaji will begin on 23rd January 2016, Subhash Babu's birth anniversary ,“ Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced in a series of tweets after meeting the members of Netaji's family at 7, RCR on Wednesday .
The Prime Minister, in this context, also announced that he will request foreign governments in possession of papers relating to Netaji to declassify them. “Will also request foreign govern ment to declassify files on Netaji available with them. Shall begin this with Russia in December,“ Modi informed through tweet.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought to justify his decision suggesting it as a move to throwing opening of classified pages of history. “There is no need to strangle history . Nations that forget their history lack the power to create it,“ Modi said in an apparent reasoning to his announcement today .
