PM Narendra Modi said that it was not a small development that a government was reelected in UP for the second consecutive time after more than three decades. “It shows that the government has earned the confidence of the people. Investors are willing to invest in UP because of the improved law and order situation, investment-friendly atmosphere and the infrastructural development taking place under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath,” he said.
Addressing the Global Investors Summit here, he invited the leading members of India Inc to visit his parliamentary constituency Varanasi to explore investment opportunities there. “I am confident that UP, with its consumer base of 16%, will give momentum to India’s growth story,” Modi said. The event, which saw 1,400 projects worth over Rs 80,000 crore come in, was the first significant event hosted by the BJP government after it returned to power. The event saw the coming together of top businessmen and industrialists.
